- Open the document and give the headings the structure you want in the table of contents — the export reads them.
- Open Export and choose EPUB. On a free account the row is marked Pro and explains the upgrade.
- The
.epubdownloads, named after the document. - To read it on a Kindle: amazon.com/sendtokindle, upload the file, and Amazon converts it for the device.
EPUB import and export are part of Quorly Pro ($5.99/month or $49.99/year). If you only need Markdown, PDF or plain text, the free editor already does that.
How to do it
What is in the file
- A table of contents built from the document's headings, with an EPUB 2 fallback for older readers.
- The text, reflowed — the reader sets the font size and the line length, which is the point of EPUB over PDF.
- Images from the document, at the size they were saved.
- Metadata with the document's title and language.
- No DRM and no store submission. It is a file, not a listing.
EPUB or PDF?
The other direction
Pro also imports EPUB: open a book file in the editor and it becomes an editable document, with its chapters as structure. That makes the editor usable for a light edit of an existing e-book, or for starting from a file a publisher sent you.
Both directions happen in the browser. The book is not uploaded to a conversion service; the archive is built in the page and handed to your download folder.
Questions
Frequently asked questions
Is EPUB export free?
No. EPUB import and export are part of Quorly Pro ($5.99/month or $49.99/year). Markdown, PDF, plain text and .quorly export are free.
Will the EPUB work on a Kindle?
Yes. Kindle accepts EPUB through Send to Kindle, which converts it on Amazon's side. The file is not uploaded to a store and carries no DRM.
Does it have a table of contents?
Yes. The EPUB is written as EPUB 3 with a navigation document and an EPUB 2 NCX fallback, so older readers still get a table of contents. Headings in the document become the entries.
