A writing app for the machine you have

One editor, four ways to run it. The web app works anywhere with a browser; the desktop build gives it its own window and its own storage. Nothing here needs an account, and nothing uploads a draft on the free plan.

What is the same everywhere

  • The editor: rich text, Focus mode, tables, images, code blocks and exports to Markdown, PDF, plain text and .quorly. EPUB is part of Pro.
  • No account, no sign-up, and the draft stored locally rather than on a server.
  • Offline work after the first load, in the browser as well as the desktop builds.
  • The same limits: no native iOS or Android app, and the desktop builds are unsigned.

What is different

The desktop app keeps its own storage, separate from the browser's, and the installer shell only changes when you download a new build. The web app updates with the site and can be installed from the address bar in Chrome or Edge. On macOS and Windows the unsigned installer warns on first launch; on Linux the AppImage needs one chmod.

There is no native iOS or Android app, and nothing here syncs by itself: a draft moves between machines when you export it, sync a folder, or turn on Pro Cloud Sync. That is the cost of not having an account, and it is stated on every page in this section rather than in a footnote. How the editor is actually built — static files, browser storage, a billing-only API — is on how it works.
